I wanted something more honest — reviews that actually tell you whether a tool solves your problem, what it costs in practice, and where it falls short.

Who's behind it

I'm Mahmoud Salamoun. My background is in marketing and content, and I've spent the last several years working closely with AI tools as part of that work — not as a developer building them, but as someone who uses them daily and has learned, often through trial and error, how to get them to actually do what I need. Gemini and ChatGPT in particular have been part of my everyday workflow long enough that I've developed a practical sense of where these tools genuinely help and where the marketing outpaces the reality.

I also have a working understanding of how these tools are built under the hood — enough to read a changelog or a pricing page critically, not just repeat what a company's marketing site says.

How reviews on ToolRadar are made

Most reviews on this site are desk reviews: built from a tool's official documentation, published pricing, and verified third-party coverage — not hands-on testing, unless a review explicitly says otherwise. I'd rather be upfront about that than imply a level of testing that didn't happen. Where I have used a tool directly, the review says so.

Editorial independence

ToolRadar carries no sponsorships and no paid placements. No company has paid to be featured or reviewed favorably. If that changes for any individual post in the future, it will be disclosed clearly on that post — not buried in fine print.
